My Nautical Ocean baby quilt is a fun mix of ocean-themed patchwork squares, including lots of whales! :) I also found waves, smiling fish, coastal towns, sailboats, cool tone geometrics, plus seagulls and stars for a beautiful blue blanket! I quilted this one-of-a-kind quilt with flowy, freehand horizontal stitching lines that look like dreamy waves at sea (or lapping at the shore). I think this stitching gives a cool contrast against the squares and rectangles and makes the whole quilt puff into waves.
The borders and backing are SUPER soft double gauze cotton fabric. This feels amazing and will get softer with every wash. This quilt has a layer of high-loft polyester batting for warmth and puffiness. Because all quilts should be puffy and cloud-like, don't you think? :)
Size is about 39" by 43", just right for a baby quilt or lap quilt. My puffy-plush small quilts are versatile and not just for babies! I hand make my quilts entirely, from cutting the fabrics to machine sewing and quilting it together. I have prewashed your quilt in fragrance-free detergent, so it has that characteristic quilty puffy crinkliness of a favorite blanket. I put love and care into everything I make, just as I would when making something for my own kids.
Care instructions: machine wash cold and tumble dry medium or low. I think all baby and kid items should be made for real life, so this quilt was made to withstand washing!
