The base is WATERPROOF, made of "PUL" (polyurethane laminate): the cute printed outside you see and feel is soft polyester fabric, which has been laminated with a hidden backing of waterproofing. So set this bag down anywhere and don't worry!
Interior is lined with a soft cotton fabric with tan stripes.
Bag measures 13" wide by 13 inches tall, with crossbody strap another 21" (total strap length 42"), so 34" tall total height.
Depth at bottom is 3". The bottom is "boxed" so stands up better (though still soft and floppy).
This bag easily holds books, notebooks, clothes, lunch, groceries, toys and treasures, etc. etc. ANYTHING!
