-
The situation is serious, but never too scary for young readers.

Vramona and Waterleaf's village is known for making pottery. The mischievous, jolly crab Brine has a travelling house full of trinkets! The girls bring back a precious treasure from the crab's home, a powerful seaspray necklace!
Friendships aren't always smooth
Waterleaf is bubbly and impulsive, Vramona is serious and tends to worry. These distinct characters mean the friends sometimes stumble when things get tough, but in the end they are always friends.
Talk with your child about genuine relationships and feelings
- The friends' relationship is nuanced. Sometimes emotions between the two friends are messy when handling a conflict.
- Vramona is upset that Waterleaf wasted their magical powder that would have helped them fly to shore.
- The book shows that, just as in real life, people are not always great at talking about their feelings. Things can get awkward.
- But, when either fairy friend is unsure or feeling down, the other friend steps up to encourage her in her own way.
- The drama is never mean-spirited, and the book ends with everything resolved.

This is the first book of the Fairyland series by Dorothy Tully. Resourceful fairy girls and boys go on adventures, interact with animals, solve problems, and help each other. Genuine dialogue, lively characters focused on friendship, and adventure will draw you right into the fairy world.
Take a positive, fun journey into fantasy worlds of animals and magic that young readers (and their grownups) will love! Whether your child reads yet or not, my books are perfect for snuggling together and reading out loud.
I write tales of both everyday life and not-too-scary adventures that blend in gentle messages of gratitude, resilience, friendship, and other emotional skills. They are fun, comforting, and safe, as kids' books should be.
And some of the stories are just plain silly! ;)
